Organon §254

Changes in the symptom picture will soon confirm whether the patient's condition is aggravated or ameliorated.

Either the appearance of new, foreign befallments of the disease to be cured or the decrease of the original symptoms without the addition of any new ones will soon dispel any doubt, for the keenly observing and investigating practitioner, about aggravation or amelioration, even in those patients who, by nature, are incapable of giving an account of this amelioration or aggravation or are unwilling to admit it.
